I was successful in securing a campsite at an Oregon Park darn near dead center of the eclipse path. I had to get up at Midnight and the sites went fast, but I got in, and secured a decent sized site. We'll have the camper and as many tents as we need. We'll figure that out close to next August.
The reservation is from the Thursday before the Eclipse (August 17, 2017) through the Wednesday, 2 days after the event (August 23) . I don't know if some or all of you can be there the whole time or not, but as we get closer, we'll check in to insure we've got food etc. for everyone. Try to schedule as much time as you can. You WILL enjoy Mom's camp cooking!
I'd strongly suggest that you arrive at least by Sunday, as the eclipse is Monday, and roads and congestion that morning will be impressive I predict. Best to be all together Monday, as we find our perfect spot. Afterwards, they predict gridlocked roads on Monday, so if possible to stay at least until Tuesday, you'll be better off.
