I don't know if you guys and gals snack on popcorn much but I found a real slick and easy way to make it on the stove top, if you don't have a popcorn maker. So here we go.
You'll need:
3-4 tablespoons of coconut, peanut or canola oil
1/3 cup of popcorn seeds.
Butter
Salt
Music (I had Herb Alpert playing, if that isn't the soundtrack to making popcorn I don't know what is.)
Put the oil in a 3 quart saucepan over med-high.
When the oil is hot add three kernels. When they pop, pour in the rest of the kernels, put the lid on that sucker and move the saucepan off the heat (keep the stove on.)
Count to 30 while listening to Herbs brass band.
When you've finished counting put the saucepan back on the heat leaving the lid slightly ajar so the steam gets out and leaves a crunchy pop.
Once they stop popping pour the popcorn in a bowl, season with butter/salt and take in the new life that lays ahead of you where you never, ever, ever have to eat bad popcorn again.
Tips: After you pour out the popcorn the saucepan will be plenty hot enough to melt your butter. Get it to a nice brown for great flavor.
The 30 seconds off heat is important and interesting science. That allows all the kernels to reach the proper temperature so when you put the pan back on the heat the kernels pop at the same time and you don't get burnt popcorn.
My life is irrevocably changed for the better

I think the Herb Alpert would be essential!
