In the immortal words of Shang
Tsung; “It Has Begun”. On Wednesday I
took my first steps towards running my second half marathon. Once again I will be running the hilly
streets of Seattle with my fellow enthusiasts during the Rock and Roll
Marathon. I have decided that this year
I would run for Seattle Children’s Hospital instead of World Vision. Both are definitely great causes but Children’s
is a bit closer to my heart.
Running for 13.1 miles is not
something everyone can or for that matter would want to do, I mean a person
must be crazy to attempt something like that.
However if you are feeling in the mood to do a little bit of cheering,
cowbell ringing, high fiving or poster holding I am sure that Lu can give you
some pointers. He (along with mom and
dad) did an excellent job last year, even nabbing himself a selfie with another
runner.
If you want to take it a step
further, or in reality many steps, and run for part of the distance with me I
would not object. I found that last
year, even with the bands and cheerleaders on the side of the road, I hit my
wall pretty hard. Having friendly faces jog,
or more accurately walk quickly, would not be a bad thing as I head into those
harder miles.
Well, it has been a long time
since I posted but here you go.
I'll support you, but jogging is way down on my list of fun activities.
ReplyDeleteBrisk walk? It's okay I can use any kind of support that you can muster.
