Up Days, Down Days

Everyone has great days, ok days, and days you wonder why you got out of bed. Just life.

I'd encourage everyone to try and keep perspective on the overall situation that you have. All of you have family that cares for you, and when push comes to shove, will be there be supportive.

Supportive really doesn't mean responding or reacting to every little bump in the road that you may experience, but when there is something big, or important, folks will be there.

One thing, that seems clear to me, is that to get through life and trials, is to maintain your own sense of pride in how your life is going. Each one of you has positive traits, skills and life benefits that can be reflected on when you feel like one of those down days are approaching.

Think of ways to re-enforce your personal sense of worth, pride, whatever you want to call it. One thing that seems to improve a persons outlook, is to have a routine that keeps your environment in order. That is different for different people, but easy examples are keeping your kitchen and bath clean and tidy, avoid creating, or turning a blind eye to clutter in your space.

I admit, that I am sensitive to kitchen order. But I've found that it is very easy to cycle the dishwasher, and to put away the clean, and rack the dirty is a task that can be done within 5 minutes. That's a small time investment to have a nice environment where you have your food.

Think about a weekly routine for larger tasks. Vacuum the floors, run some cleaner through the toilets and showers. Think of how you will appreciate some sparkle. A rule of thumb is, Can you be ready to have visitors within 5-10 minutes, and have pride (using that word again), in your place? The benefit is that you will have a really orderly place for You to live in.

Look, I'm being general, but I do want to create some thought and reflection. Can you do something today, that will take care of some chore that for one reason or the other has been deferred? Is there a day that 20 minutes can't be allocated to making things cleaner or more orderly? Challenge Yourself!
I guarantee, that just doing a few simple things will generate a sense of accomplishment. SOme simple things will make your day start better.

Thanks for Reading.

Dad
